The Bartholomews Maps company is an Edinburgh institution and the National Library of Scotland retain a large number of maps and books relating to the organisation.
Hamilton Design won a tender to design and build an exhibition in the library’s temporary exhibition space that was able to show off some of the library’s collection of Bartholomews-related objects and tell the story of the company and the people who worked there. This included maps and illustrations, together with an audio record describing some of the detailed tasks that were undertaken by the staff to create detailed maps.
